Our Mission
The Center for Applied Psychometric Research is dedicated to providing cutting edge statistical and psychometric research and evaluation services to further educational improvements at the K-12 and higher education levels and to inform educators, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders in the education process.
Created in the fall of 2009 with a generous endowment from the Pearson Foundation.
Distinguished Lecture Series
The Distinguished Lecture Series is an annual event that will bring in expert researchers in the fields of psychometrics, statistics, and research design to the University of Texas at Austin to discuss advances and new findings in their fields. These lectures will focus on various aspects of educational testing and the resulting implications for policy and practices.

Services and Research
Typical research projects include test and scale development and validation studies, test score linking and equating, developing and validating computerized adaptive testing systems, comparisons of various scoring methods, assessment of competing measurement models, the impact of violations of model assumptions and comparison of various student groups.
