The Cardiovascular Aging Research Laboratory investigates the influence of aging and lifestyle modifications (in particular regular physical activity) on cardiovascular function, structure, and disease risks in humans.  Some of the research agenda being examined in the laboratory include:

  • Physiological mechanisms and consequences of vascular aging
  • Influence of lifestyle modifications on vascular dysfunction and increased disease risk that occur with aging
  • Masters athletes and changes in athletic performance with aging
  • Impact of nutraceuticals on blood pressure and vascular function
  • Utility of swimming exercise for disease prevention
