The SensoriMotor NeuroPlasticity Lab (SMNP Lab) investigates the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying control of normal and abnormal upper extremity movement in humans.

Our mission is to:

  1. Identify brief temporal windows during which the neurophysiological mechanisms supporting voluntary upper extremity movement and motor learning are most active
  2. Deliver evidence-based neurostimulation and motor training interventions during these windows in real-time in order to enhance their efficacy

To achieve this, we combine non-invasive recording of human brain activity with brain stimulation and movement quality assessments in neurotypical individuals and those with neurological damage, like that caused by stroke.
