Mohsen Alighanbari
Mohsen is a Ph.D. candidate who is researching the effects of aging on neuromuscular and biomechanical factors during single- and multi-joint movement in the hand and forearm.
Shahad Alrumayh
Shahad is a Ph.D. student in the Biomechanics and NeuroRehabilitation program. Her research focuses on integrating vibration feedback into rehabilitation protocols to improve balance and gait and reduce fall risk in individuals with peripheral neuropathy.
Xinyu Li
Xinyu is a Ph.D. student in the Dept. of Kinesiology and Health Education. Her research interest focuses on EMG coherence before and after electrical stimulation for patients with subacromial shoulder pain.
Ziwei Luo
Ziwei is a Ph.D. student in Neuromuscular Physiology Lab. Her research investigates how functional electrical stimulation (FES) combined with resistance training influences EMG-EMG coherence and motor unit recruitment pattern across shoulder muscles in individuals with rotator cuff disease. Her work aims to develop targeted rehabilitation strategies for individuals with shoulder disorders.
Elijah Martinez
Elijah is a masters student in the Biomechanics and NeuroRehabilitation program. His research focuses on measuring the effects of aging on muscle quality and health using bioelectrical impedance analysis.
Mark Martinez
Mark is a master’s student in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education. His research focuses on the effects of vibrating insoles and balance control in older adults.
Evan Oro
Oro researches electrophysiology and single motor unit recording techniques to study neuromuscular physiology in both healthy and clinical populations. His current project aims to validate a novel surface electromyography (EMG) system for single motor unit recording and analysis, benchmarking its performance against gold-standard intramuscular EMG.
Ningzhen Zhao
Ningzhen is a master’s student in the Dept. of Kinesiology and Health Education. Her research interest focuses on using electrical stimulation to improve walking ability in older adults.
