Welcome to the Heath Equity Across the Lifespan (HEAL) Lab!
The HEAL lab is dedicated to advancing research, advocacy, and education to support at-risk populations, improve access to mental health services, and foster equitable, culturally informed care across the lifespan. Our work focuses on understanding suicide risk factors, help-seeking intentions and behaviors, and the unique barriers faced by vulnerable populations. Through interdisciplinary, collaborative research, we aim to break down systemic obstacles and develop interventions that are both culturally responsive and grounded in anti-oppressive practices.
Current Projects
We are actively conducting research in the following areas:
- Older adult mental health service use and suicide risk
- Knowledge and use of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
- Suicide risk among college students of Asian descent
- Help-seeking among college men of color
