We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow committed to community-engaged health disparities research to join a NIH-funded randomized controlled trial testing the effects of a family-based coping skills intervention for Latinx families of children with asthma (see https:\/\/education.utexas.edu\/news\/2020\/11\/17\/new-study-funded-national-institute-minority-health-health-disparities-improve-health-well-being-latinx-children-asthma<\/a>). The postdoctoral fellow will help train and supervise community health workers who deliver the culturally-tailored intervention, monitor intervention fidelity, conduct data analysis, and disseminate research findings. The postdoctoral fellow will have opportunities to work directly with stakeholders within primary care clinics and to develop knowledge and skills in implementation science, supervision, and culturally-tailored intervention approaches for Latinx youth and families..<\/p>\n\n\n\n This position is in the Pediatric Coping and Language (PCL) Lab at the University of Texas at Austin, directed by Dr. Erin Rodr\u00edguez. The PCL lab (http:\/\/sites.edb.utexas.edu\/pcllab\/<\/a>) studies the role of family and sociocultural processes in children\u2019s psychosocial and health outcomes,with a focus on understanding and reducing health disparities affecting Latinx youth living in low-SES contexts. Our lab is housed within UT Austin\u2019s interdisciplinary College of Education (https:\/\/education.utexas.edu\/),and collaborates with research teams across the campus, including in medicine, nursing, social work, communication sciences and Latino studies. The University,the College of Education, and the PCL Lab provide an outstanding environment for the career development of postdoctoral fellows. Trainees have access to numerous development resources,including grant writing workshops, a career mentorship committee, and multidisciplinary university-and college-wide lectures and seminar series.
