Hao-Yuan Hsiao<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Director<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Hao-Yuan Hsiao is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Austin. He received a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan Ocean University in Taiwan before acquiring a M.Eng in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University. In 2015, Hsiao earned his Ph.D. in biomechanics and Movement Science from the University of Delaware, where his dissertation was titled “Mechanisms For Increasing Propulsive Force During Walking In Individuals Poststroke.” He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at the University of Maryland Baltimore.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mac Prible, PT, Ph.D.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Research Scientist<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Mac Prible is a licensed Physical Therapist and a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist. Prior to graduating with a DPT from Texas State University in 2016, he worked as a pension actuary after receiving a B.A. in Economics from UT Austin in 2003. He received his doctoral degree in 2025. His research interests include real-time adaptive perturbations to evoke targeted gait training, as well as open-source motion capture built on emerging computer vision tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jason Tsai<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

PhD Candidate<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Jason Tsai is a 3rd-year Ph.D. student after graduating with his Bachelor’s in Neuroscience in 2020 from the University of Texas at Austin. His research goal is to improve balance and locomotion in impaired populations from a neuromuscular and biomechanical approach. He has extensive expertise in research design, lower extremity biomechanics, academic rigor, and data analysis. With these tools, he hopes to develop protocols that will improve human locomotion, functional balance, and quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sonu Marhajan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

MS Student<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Sonu holds a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Nepal and is currently a second-year master\u2019s student. Her research interest includes improving independence in older adults by examining the biomechanics of getting up from the floor. She loves travelling, cold weather, and a good cup of tea<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zachary Zegub<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

MS Student<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Zachary Zegub is a graduate student studying the biomechanics of human walking. His research focuses on how people change their movement patterns and mechanical demands in response to treadmill perturbations, with an emphasis on understanding joint-level contributions during gait adaptation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zekun Liu is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Biomechanics and NeuroRehabilitation program. His research interests focus on understanding how real-time gait perturbations influence lower-extremity biomechanics and neuromuscular control in individuals post-stroke<\/p>\n\n\n\n
