Our Summer Institute will help you develop your knowledge and ability as a writing teacher and as a leader in literacy professional development.\u00a0 Participants at this institute write, read, research, and consult with other teachers.\u00a0 Once you have participated, you will enter an exciting community of excellent teachers from the Austin area. As part of this group, you will receive support in your teaching and continuing professional development.\u00a0 You may also have opportunities to provide professional development services to other teachers.\u00a0 We invite experienced teachers of writing to apply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Invitational Summer Institute 2026 details:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please read all of this information carefully. Required dates and deadlines are important to our work.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are due before <strong>March 27 at 7:00 pm<\/strong>\u00a0Online application form should be submitted AND supporting documents should be emailed to dkelt@utexas.edu by this time\/date.<\/p>\n<p>Find the application form <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSfSXn1V1TwVvnm6tV_WLBtVX7axclcOPaSXD52slBtH-XpnlQ\/viewform?usp=header\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>(There is support for the application process. Email us at the above address.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>March 31<\/strong>: Required interviews on Zoom starting at 4:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 3<\/strong>: Finalists announced.<\/p>\n<p><b>April 11:<\/b>\u00a0First required Saturday orientation meeting, 9:30 am &#8211; 1:30 pm. This will be in person.<\/p>\n<p><b>May 2<\/b>: Second required Saturday orientation meeting, 9:30 am &#8211; 1:30 pm. Also in person.<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 8 &#8211; July 2<\/strong>: Summer Institute. <i>We will meet in person on the UT Campus, Sanchez Building.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Institute Schedule: M-Th, 9:00 am &#8211; 3:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Please note:<\/p>\n<p>*The Summer Institute is an experience that cannot be engaged with at a distance.
