Calorie FIT (RMR)

Calorie FIT is an estimation of the number of calories that you expend per day and the intake necessary for energy balance, weight loss or lean mass gains. Your resting metabolic rate (RMR) or resting caloric expenditure is measured using the Parvo Medics TrueOne 2400 metabolic cart.

Next, your Physical Activity Caloric Expenditure, the number of calories expended above rest during normal activities and exercise, are estimated using a physical activity recall. Finally, your Total Caloric Expenditure is estimated by adding the RMR and Physical Activity Caloric Expenditure together.

Calorie FIT is probably most useful for individuals trying to lose weight. It helps establish current caloric expenditure and then establish appropriate energy expenditure and intake for weight loss.
