The work presented by the scholars in this edition refreshingly fuels a vision of an America where all Black boys succeed and thrive in each stage of their academic careers, and emerge from educational experiences, not scarred, disregarded or pushed out of the system, but as lifelong learners motivated to contribute to their families and the nation’s prosperity through meaningful work. […] while improving the life outcomes for Black men and boys in America calls for a generational commitment from government, not-for-profits, businesses, and the philanthropic community across multiple issues like economic equity, health, and strengthening family structures, just to name a few, the catalyst for lasting change must start with our collective obsession to improving educational outcomes for Black boys.
