I’ve been a Licensed Psychologist in Austin, Texas for ten years. During this time, I’ve been an informal consultant with the Austin Men’s Center, developing a strong relationship with the current director, Bill Bruzy. In line with my research, my practice has focused on men experiencing a range of different struggles. In my approach, I work collaboratively with my clients, integrating aspects of different theories, most notably psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches. As a Counseling Psychologist, I also believe in the value of taking a strength-based approach, helping men develop and enhance their coping-strategies that are effective in different life-areas. Recently, I’ve enjoyed doing more “outside the box” approaches to therapy, including offering clients the option of “walk therapy.” I’ve found there is something very powerful and effective with getting clients moving, taking an active psychological stroll together.
