On behalf of the Counseling, School/Clinical Child, and Clinical Psychology PhD Programs at The University of Texas at Austin, we are excited to host our annual Practicum Fair!  

This site is intended to provide information to current training collaborators of the School/Clinical Child, Counseling, and Clinical Psychology PhD Programs at The University of Texas at Austin. Please check back as the Fall is underway to learn more about our plan for showcasing your site to interested students.

If you are not a current collaborator and are interested in training our students, please review the Training: Psychology PhD Students and reach out to the appropriate training director about being onboarded as a practicum site.

We have already placed students for the 2025-2026 Academic year. Please reach out to the appropriate training director regarding questions or concerns about your student(s).

Expected Timeline for Recruitment of Students for the 2026-2027 Academic Year:

  • November 21st: Deadlines to submit site materials (brochures, vitas, videos) through this survey or email UTprac-internship@austin.utexas.edu
  • December 8th: Site information is made available to students
  • January 23rd: Application deadline for students to apply to sites by 12:00 PM
  • February 9th: Deadline for site to Inform students about whether they will be interviewed
  • March 9th: Rank order list of applicants to Directors (google link form will be sent in Feb. to submit rankings)
  • March 30th (or sooner): Sites will be informed of student assignments

You will notice on our timeline that we will not have a Q&A period this year. Instead, we encourage you to include a FAQ section in your site brochure and indicate whether you are open to students emailing with questions after they consult the brochure and meet with their UT Program Director. 

Who should I contact if I have questions about practicum training or a concern about my student(s)?

We value open lines of communication between the practicum site and the doctoral training program and consider you vital partners in our students’ training.
